Napa Regional Dance Company has been offering Classical ballet and Contemporary dance to the Napa Valley’s youth for 33 years with the mission to promote dance as an educational and art form. Founded in 1988, Janet Mangiaracina (Co Founder, past Co Director), formed a wonderful professional partnership with Wanda Martin McGill where they blended their considerable talents, knowledge, and experience with a shared philosophy about dance education to form Napa Regional Dance Company. Our focus is on the Vagonova style of training. Each instructor has a professional dance background; having performed with groups such as American Ballet Theater, Oakland Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem,Ballet West, Joffrey Ballet and the Boston Conservatory.
In addition to graduate level university work, the instructors have each received specialized training in classical and contemporary methodology from some of the world's most renowned dancers, choreographers and teachers. As a result, many NRDC students are accepted to pre-professional training programs every summer. We are also proud of our NRDC alumni who have continued on to professional and collegiate dance programs across the country. These programs are competitive and our Napa Regional students excel in their artistic development. Our program offers year-round dance curriculum in addition to a comprehensive 6 week summer intensive program that is open to the community and students across the country. NRDC regularly brings professional dancers and master teachers to the school to provide additional enrichment and to further enhance their dance education. |
